Carnival Party
We had a carnival party for my daughter's 3rd birthday. The decorations were clown invitations, plates, cups, etc. in orange, yellow and blue. We purchased solid color hats along with craft supplies of feathers, pom pom balls, and pipe cleaners, in which the children could make a silly hat. Next, we setup a small wading pool with water, and had a fishing game. The fishing poles and magnetic fish allowed the children to see how many fish they could catch. The one with the most won a special prize. Also, we had a lot of activities in our yard. We setup a "balloon animal" table, where my husband made balloon animals for the kids to take home. I created a "face painting" table, where the parents could get involved and decorate their child's face or hand with one of the pictures (to give them ideas). A fish, rainbow, ladybug, spider, balloons, snake, smiley face, etc. were some of the ideas. Spin Art game was a very popular. Each child got a card to put into the spin art machine, then once it was turned on, they got to make a creative picture with paint drops and took it home. For food, we barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs. I sectioned out a watermelon, and placed watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes and strawberries on skewers. Then, I put the skewers inside the sectioned out watermelon and decorated a face on the front of the watermelon with strawberries for the eyes, etc. Everyone had a really great time!
