For my daughters 8th birthday we had a "Carnival". We started with computer generated invitation printed on clown adorned paper. Each Invitation included a ticket for
"Admission" to the party. (I bought a roll of tickets at a party supply store.) When our guests arrived the visited out ticket booth so they could receive tickets to play games. (I
constructed all booths from cardboard moving boxed & decorated with bright construction paper signs) The game booths housed a pitching game. (Knocking over, empty & painted, soda cans
with plastic balls found at Toys R Us) There was also a dart toss. (We stapled balloons to a large wooden side yard gate, away from traffic)The third booth had a ring toss.(A plastic summer
game found at a local drug store toy department.)There was a snack booth with drinks and individually package popcorn & cotton candy.(Purchased from Smart & Final) There was a bounce
house & a face painting/tattoo booth. (The face painting booth was manned by a close friend who dressed up as a clown. She wore jeans, an oversized shit, a clown wig & nose.)We set up
lunch, hot dogs, under the "Big Top" tent. (Two canopies we use at the beach) Each child had been handed a "Loot" bag when the arrived and it was filled with the prizes
they won at the game booths. The clown later passed out helium balloons in different shapes, purchased at a party supply store, and plastic beaded necklace'. (Even the boys were wearing
them.) I recruited my older daughter,a teenage neighbor and several family members as "Carnies" to man the booths and to provide crowd control. It was a great party!
