I had a Dragon Tales Carnival party for my 5 year old daughter. The invitation said "You're invited to a carnival in Dragon Land!" We had a Cassie and an Ord costume and I
stuffed each of them, put balloons in the head part of the costume, and sat each of them on our doorstep to welcome the children. I made a big sign saying "Welcome to Dragon Land,"
with a picture of Emmie and Max, that was in the foyer and had the Dragon Tales CD playing in the background.
I put all of our Dragon Tales stuffed animals and figurines in a basket for display. I made Dragon badges for each child, out of a foam material I bought at a craft shop, plus ribbon to go around their neck. I bought two Dragon Tales books, ripped out the pages, and decorated the playroom walls with the pictures. We had a gorgeous Cassie cake. Since it was a carnival party, I rented four carnival-type games (tossing a ball into a clown's mouth, knocking down dice with a ball, throwing rings on bottles and knocking down stuffed trolls with beanbags). I gave each kid a paper bag with his or her name on it and a ribbon to put around his or her neck and wear like a necklace. When they won a game (everyone was a winner) they got a ticket and collected them in their bags. At the end of the party, they traded their tickets in for their goodie bag (just like getting tickets at a carnival and "buying" prizes). I also had a spin art and crafts, face painting and tattoos. Our teenage babysitters helped run all of the "booths" and games. Finally, I hired a clown to perform for about 1/2 hour. It was fun!
