My 11 year old daughter just attended a birthday party that was so fun. The mother created some really neat invitations that looked like cheerleading megaphones. She created these out of cardstock and used our school colors.   She contacted the high school cheerleading coach and asked if any of the girls would be able to teach the girls a dance/routine. Our schools have to do so many hours of community service and this qualified so they were glad to do it. There was no cost involved and it was a win-win situation for both.  The girls had a great time learning the dance/routine. She kept the group small (4-5 girls).   They then did a craft where they created a school banner from felt with a cheerleading cut out and colored paint.   Finally what would it be without a hot dog and chips just like at the game?   In conclusion they opened presents. The whole party lasted from 4:30-7:00 and didn't involved a lot of work on the parent's part.   My daughter loved the party and has been driving us nuts for two days doing the cheers and dances.  This was such a clever idea, I just had to share with everyone else.
