Party Supplies

Our twin daughters turned three and we had just came back from a Disney cruise and they were obsessed with all of the Disney Princesses.  We decided to do a Cinderella Birthday party.  I created invitations on a faux finished stationary and put a clip art of a castle and a crown on the invitation.  It read, "Here ye!  Here ye!  King and Queen (last name) wish to announce that their Princess (name) and Princess (name) will be turning three and request your presence at the (last name) castle on (date and time). Please join us for enchanted day of fun and fantasy."  I found a large appliance box and cut it out to look like the top of a castle and placed it around the entry way of our kitchen. I then put lots of streamers in the doorway.  In our foyer I decorated a table and had the children (parents) sign in the official birthday guestbook and then the children put on an apron that I had decorated in fabric paint and I put "Princess (name) on it.  I had originally thought about buying t-shirts and decorating them but decided that they could use the aprons for future use.  From my front door leading to the castle entryway of the kitched I put down red butcher paper to make it look like red carpet.  When the child was ready to come into the castle, I would announce their arrival and led them to the craft table to make their crown. I used foam craft paper and cut them out to form cones, stapled them and stapled an elastic piece on them so the children could wear them.  The children glued jewels on them and glued pink ribbon from the top of the cone crown.  When they were done they got to go outside and jump in the castle jump house that we rented.  We then announced that it was story time and they came in to hear the story of Cinderella (the old version that I have had since 1974). When Drizella and Anastacia tore of the sash and beads I handed everyone a piece of pink ribbon and some colorful bead that were purchased. I made a magic wand for everyone by wrapping a long pretzle with pink ribbon and dipping it in white chocolate and rolling it in edible silver balls.  When we read about the fairy godmother I then passed out the wands. Then I found in a wedding shop some glass slipers and drilled holes in the heels and strung pink ribbons through them for necklaces. So at the end of the story everyone received a glass slipper.  Since 3 year olds don't have a long attention span I also made some play areas. One area I put some kids' princess heels on some velvet pillows with a sign above that I drew with the Grand Duke saying "She too must try the slipper" Another area with a pretend wishing well with a jar of pennies next to it and a sign saying "Make a wish" And another area with a board with the prince's face on it and underneath another sign saying "kiss the prince"  The blindfolded child with lipstick on would try to kiss the prince after being spun around a couple of times.  We then ate some royal cupcakes with small castles on top of them and ate ice cream and had royal punch (raspberry sherbert and ginger ale). I made sure that each child had their picture taken so when we wrote thank you letters we also gave them a picture inside a small cinderella coach picture frame that I found at a hobby store. A fun and memorable day for everyone!
