Cinderella's Dream Come True Party.  For my daughter's 5th birthday party we had a Cinderella party. We sent out a scrolled invitation requesting all the girls to come dressed as their favorite princess. Once the girls arrived and after they each admired the others costume, they all gathered around for the reading of the story of Cinderella.  When I got to the part where her Fairy God Mother turns the pumpkin into the coach, I asked the girls if they thought they could turn a pumpkin into a beautiful coach. Of course they all said, "NO". With that I said, "Why don't we try." We brought out 23 magic wands that I got from the dollar store and (since it was October) brought all the girls out to the drivway to try to turn a pumpkin into a coach. They huddled aroung the pumpkin and kept saying, "bippity, boppity, boo" louder and louder and didn't even notice a beautiful live horse drawn carriage coming down the street complete with men dressed as colonial footmen. The girls took turns getting rides for over an hour and loved the attention they got from the neighbors.  After the rides we went back inside and had princess music playing for the girls to ballroom dance (lots of giggles). After that we sat down for a sheet cake the had three dimensional trees and a small plastic carriage with a princess and a prince. The cake decorator even made little mice and a pumpkin from icing.  The decorations consisted of princess supplies from a party store. The mantle in the party room, I thought, was simple but nice.  It was an old clock set to 12 o'clock and beautifl Cinderella doll that they were selling at the Price Club for a while and a picture of my daughter.  For goody bags I was able to get small princess figurines at the Disney store (6 for $8.99) which I gave one to each guest. I also found chocolate pumpkins, mice and a shoe at a specialty chocolate store in town. Stcikers, and a candy necklace making kit completed the goody bag. It was such a specail party and I forgot to mention that the carriage was a complete surprise to all the guests-even my daughter.  Some of them really thought the magic had worked!
