Cinderella Party: For my daughter's 8th Birthday we had a Cinderella Theme. We designed our own invitations on the computer and invited 10 girls to a local performance of an African
American Cinderella Play. It was a different twist to the American well known version. After the play we were able to secure a room at the performance arts center and have cake (which was a
Castle surrounded by glass slippers made out of brittle)and ice cream. Party Favors were the big hit!! They were plastic clear 5" long slippers (which I had ordered on line through a
bridal web site) and I had glued colored jewels on them. I then made 10 individual silver lamae pillows with silver tassels and had placed the slipper on top of the pillow. I also stuffed the
slipper with lip gloss, earrings, and heart candy. I then wrapped them up with pretty decorated cellophane wrap to secure the two items together wrapped with ribbons. They were as much a hit
as the play itself. The girls had a wonderful time!
