For our daughter's first birthday we chose Cinderella to be the theme. We bought Cinderella's custom from Disney store and a tiara for her. For the kids, we had fairy godmother's hats for
girls and crowns for boys. We hand made them; using metallic colors hats, we glued jewels and tulle and the girls loved it. We had a treasure chest with fabrics, swords and wands and the kids
dressed themselves and played to be knights and fairy godmothers. We also had a castle made from card board where the kids played. The princess needed a throne and a coach, so we made it. For
the throne we cut a box in the shape of a crown and used contact paper and silver giftwrap to decorate it. Then we fit it in her high chair so it looked like a queen's throne. For the
coach we used her wagon, covered it with white plastic and decorated it with ribbons, stars, hearts and metallic strings. The cake resembled a castle using ice-cream cones and candies.
We had a pinata filled with candies in the shapes of rings, necklaces, lipsticks, bracelets, all found in the dollar store. And we also had goody bags. For girls we had bracelets, body glitter, Cinderella story book, bubbles, princesses' stickers, glow in the dark stars, and make up. For the boys we had sword's keychains, kaleidoscopes, glow in the dark stars, bubbles and "magnetic fuzzy face" (make funny faces using a magnetic wand). The kids made sand art using plastic containers with different shapes and played "stick the star in the wand". They also made a "royal toast" with plastic goblets. We did everything in two hours. The kids had a lot of fun and our daughter enjoyed it from beginning to end. She loved looking all the kids dressed up and the games, the pinata, her caboose, her tiara, everything. I was surprised to see her paying attention to every detail.
