For my daughters 1st Birthday party her big sister chose to have Cinderella's Ball. We purchased a Disney Princess outfit at the Disney store,a feather boa and a tiara. We took a photo
of Emily in the outfit and had turned it into the invitation to the "ball" The invite was worded... "Please come to Emily's 1st Birthday..We're gonna have a ball!" I
borrowed lots of "dress up" play clothes(gowns, jewelry, top hats, old suit jackets etc) from friends so that the children could dress in "formal attire". We also had a
craft table where the girls made their own tiaras out of pipe cleaners and beads and the boys made crowns out of golden paper crowns and glued jewels to them.
There was also many coloring books and crayons all in the Disney princess theme. My teenage niece was the "DJ" She played many Disney theme songs for the children to dance to. The hall was decorated with pink and white and baby blue balloons, streamers, tablecloths and confetti. The cake was a Cinderella cake from my local bakery. I was unable to locate a Cinderella themed piņata so I purchased a large round "add your own wording" piņata, blew up the photo from her invitation and pasted it onto the front of the piņata. The party was great and Big Sister helped through the entire planning. I got great advice from her and she felt very involved.
