Cinderella
Invitations were rolled up scrolls with the announcement for the "ball" and tied with ribbon. All the girls wore their prettiest dress, or a dress-up dress. On arrival they were given rags to clean the floor or dust or whatever(this also helps kill time while you're waiting for tardy guests.) We had a boy come in to announce the beginning of the ball. The girls all lined up at the door of the "ballroom" and were announced one by one. The games were musical chairs, kiss the prince (poster-board prince w/out lips, girls wear lipstick and are blindfolded, the closest to the lip area wins, dance, etc. Party favors were a tinsel crown, plastic-gemed ring (presented on entry to the ballroom), a magic wand and a beaded necklace(decorated by them as a craft). Food was the normal party food and each place was set with a name card. The Cake was a castle (if it's a small group frost upside round cake pans as part of the castle. Use plastic dowels for towers with sugar cone top. I bought a Cinderella, and her carriage from a cake supply store. This was a huge success!
