A Bigtop Circus Party  For my sons 7th birthday, on Halloween, we had a circus party. We gave invitations that said  The Circus is Coming to Town. The Smith Family Circus is invited to the bigtop on Oct 31st. Circus costumes are required, clown outfitter is available on site if needed. Please RSVP to the Ring Master. We filled the house with all colors of balloons, strung from wall to wall. I dressed as the Ring Master, my husband was the Lion Tamer, my 5 yr daughter was a trapeze lady and my son was a lion. When everyone arrived we gave them an empty goody bag with their name on it & started the excitement. We played mouseholes in the kitchen (rolling a ball across the floor and trying to get it into one of three different sized holes in a box)for foam stamps, chocolate bars. We then headed into the living room ring to play ring toss (cut out paper plates for rings and 2L pop bottles) for candies, stickers and sports erasers. We took a break for dinner, hot dogs, chips and snacky stuff with punch. On to the bathroom for the Tin can shoot (juice cans on the edge of the tub being shot down with a water gun) for little airplanes, balloon rockets and licorice. To the rec room ring for the tightrope (kids were turned around a few times before being sent down the strip of masking tape to the other side of the room) for candy hotdogs and hamburgers, pony tail holders and tops. The last ring was in the little bathroom downstairs were the kids played the fish pond (a hot water tank box filled the doorway for the kids to throw their fishing rod over, hear it splash in the sink and then receive their prize) for more candy and plastic bugs, animals or dinosaurs. Some of the guests dressed as tightrope walkers, clowns, zebras, a circus attendee (normal attire but carrying a ticket to the circus), tigers, circus cowboy, pony, etc. It was lots of fun and easily filled 3 hours.
