My daughter was turning 5 yrs old and we wanted to do something more original. We decided to do a color party. Her favorite color of course is PINK! So we made the theme "The Pink
Party" Everything was pink, from the invitations to the drinks. It was a lot easier than I thought. We kept the guest list to personal family and friends only. I wanted to
personalize everything as much as possible. For the table we set each place setting with pink plates, forks, napkins, cups, and a hair crown's. My sister made them out of craft wire and
streamers that hung down. All pink of course, all the little girls said they felt like princess! I also had a tote bag with their individual name on it. I bought small canvas bags at Wal-Mart
and puff paints, little sticky crafty girly things to glue on them, and whala!
In the bags I put a candy bag, bracelts, pink bubbles, and misc. prizes. Everything was set and ready when they walked in, their faces just lit up. Everything was pink, pink balloons everywhere, the first thing they went for was for their bags, they all searched for their own name and sat at their place. For the food I served hot dogs and chips, and served pink lemonade. For the cake I made huge Texas size cupcakes w/pink icing for the girls, for the adults and I had a huge "5" shape cake, which she blew out the candles on. For the games, unfortunatley it was pouring that day. I am so glad I had this one planned. I got the idea to take poloroid pictures of each girl with my daughter, then I got popsicle sticks and glued them together and glued a piece of pink ribbon on the top so they could hang later, then I glued the picture to the frame. After they dried, I let the girls decorate their very own frame with different adhesive stickers that I found at a craft store. The girls will always remember my daughter's birthday party with that picture. Oh ya, I also served pink wine for my adult guest in pink wine flutes that I found at a party store, they loved it. I got so many compliments that day. My daughter had the best birthday ever.
