For my sons first birthday I decided to do the theme Colors. I printed out party invitations with a picture of him at a fun park covered in bright colored balls. We asked everyone to come
dressed in their favorite color. The decorations are different colored streamers twisted in a criss cross so the colors are mixed together. I also cut out different colors of circles out of
construction paper and punched holes in them. Then I tied thin colorful ribbon through them and hung them around the room. Colorful balloons are hanging all around the room. I cut out the
number one out of construction paper and put it around the room. Instead of a large cake, I made cupcakes. Each cupcake had different colored frosting and sprinkles on them. For finger food
we had fruit salad, veggies and dip, chips, crackers and cheese, jello shapes made with a cookie cutter using different colors of jello, rice crispy pops (with a stick in them like a lolly
pop) made with fruity pebbles instead of rice crispies, different flavors of fruit juice, mini pizzas made into shapes by using cookie cutters. The tableware is different colors of solid
plates and cups and napkins. The table cloth is three different clothes cut into strips and laying the colors over each other to make a rainbow pattern. The activities are simple because the
children are between the ages of 1 and 3 years. I purchased solid colored party hats and stickers. The kids get to decorate their hat with the stickers. There is also a table with shaped
sugar cookies and the kids get to decorate those. For our sons birthday we got him a play hut with tunnels and a hut with balls. It is very colorful and the children enjoy playing in it. My
parents got him the colorful fisher price pop-onz city. The children also love that. I decided to just let the children set the pace of the party. That way everyone, encluding the parents can
enjoy themselves. Party favors are colorful beach balls which the children also get to play with at the party.
