Because this is my Sons first birthday, I wanted to do it kinda cutcie and babyiesh because when he gets older he will have his own ideas. So I decided to go with blue and brown. I started
with the invitations, I made them on photoshop it is a light blue background with chocolate brown stripes (different thicknesses, it makes it easier so they don't all have to be proportional
it looks like you planned them different). Then on the left hand side I have three pictures a newborn at the top, a six month at the bottom, and then a little bigger is a year in the middle.
Then on the right side and in the middle of the invitation I have the words and it reads
A Year has passed and it's been Fun! Please Join us as Brock turn's ONE! Then I have when where time ECT. For the envelope I got light blue envelopes then I made brown liners I had it set up in our backyard and I had a canapy set up with the food set up under there and I used those paper lanterns and balls in blue and glued brown dots on them and those hung from the roof of the canapy (I used tape to hang them) and I got two peices of fabric for the table cloth one was a solid ligt blue and the other was white with brown polka-dots. I used the polka-dot one for the bottom then I used the blue one for a runner across the table. I Used brown cups and blue silverware wraped in brown napkins and tied with a big ribbon and a brown and blue striped little number 1 traced from a cookie cutter and tied in the ribbon. then I had blue plates and some blue napkins. Then for food platters I found in the craft store some round it looks like tree trunks cut in flat platters If you can't find them (they are kindof hard to find any brown platters are fine) then I painted blue stipes on some and polka-dots on the others. Then in a smaller canapy the top was completely filled with brown and blue balloons then there was a wooden table that I cut out number ones out of blue and brown paper and I had colors so the kids could color the number ones. I had a blue blanket set out and that is were the kids could sit and eat and also that is were Brock opened his presents. The kids had cup cakes instead of a big cake and Brock had a minature cake for him to dig into. For the favors I got white gable boxes and painted some brown and some blue and decorated them with ribbon different ways and I had a blue and brown ink pad and some thank you stamps and stamped the opposite color than the box on each one. And then I tied the top of the box with a blue or brown ribbon. In each box I put bubbles (I made lables that matched my theme on the computer then I attached it to the bubbles with the picture stickers that I mentioned earlier.) I put sidewalk chalk 3 sticks of them in a plastic clear envelope folded the flap over and used different blue and brown ribbon to wrap around them then I help the ribbon together with one of the photo stickers. Then I put rubber duckies in each one and a little bear with a blue ribbon tied around it. Also I had a jumping thing but I had older kids coming to the party also. But that is my party it came out so cute hope you can get some ideas from it. "
