I planned a Candyland themed party for my three year-old daughter. It was a great hit. The decorations were as rainbow as possible (balloons, streamers, etc.) I made invitations with all the characters from the game by scanning them onto my computer from the game. The agenda of activities centered around an activity based on each character of the game (except Lord Licorice--my three year-old gets a little scared of villains). To facilitate going from one character to another I had made cards with each character on them. I then put them in the order that I wanted to go and I had a child draw a card that would tell what character would be next. We started with King Kandy where each child was given a "castle" sand bucket with their name painted on it to start our journey. These buckets were to hold all of their prizes.  Then we continued our journey by making "Princess Lolly" crowns like the ones the character has on the game. We did these by getting paper crowns ( I got the ones from Burger King) and then we stuck lollipops in prepunched holes and then reinforced them with scotch tape. We continued by going to Plumpy's plum tree which was a tree drawn on some poster board and then hung on the wall. I blew up purple balloons and inserted prizes in each of the balloons and then taped them to the tree.  Each child would pick a "plum" balloon to pop for the prize inside. Then we went to Gloppy's Molasses Swamp to "fish" for prizes where I set up the traditional fish pond. The prizes I used were Candyland card games. For Queen Frostine in the Ice Cream Sea we played pin the ice cream scoop on the cone played like pin the tail on the donkey.  I gave out little ice cream cone straws and coasters to keep with that theme.  For Mr. Mint each child received a party flute with some peppermint candies to go along with the candy flutes that Mr. Mint makes. For Jolly and the Gumdrop Mountains I was going to play a concentration game with different color gumdrops on cards, but for the sake of time just opted to hand out gumdrop candies.  Then to end the activites we had Gramma Nutt where each child received circus peanuts candy and we had peanut butter sandwiches and lunch.
