Every year I make a spaghetti dinner for my best girl friends birthday. The menu is pretty much the same each year. But....We always look forward to it. Her favorite color is "Purple", so it is known as the "Purple Party". The decorations vary from year to year, but are done all in varying shades of purple. Last year I tied the napkins with purple curled ribbons and used dishes that had purple flowers on them. I decorated the room with purple glass Christmas ornaments and purple glittered snowflakes, hanging them from the ceiling fan chain. There were purple candles in the center of the table with purple flowers. This year I found purple metallic ribbons for the napkins and have a lavender table cloth to use. All her gifts this year have the purple theme...from the towels & apron to a cute stuffed Purple Rat. I will do up another purple centerpiece which will consist of purple roses this year. The cake will be iced in purple too! And we will be serving purple grape juice & wine with the meal. And....of course....WE ALWAYS WEAR PURPLE!!!! With the Birthday Girl in her Purple Velvet Dress!!! The party favors are also purple....this year they will be key rings.  This of course could be done with any favorite color!!!
