Balloon Party- under 10 We hired a Balloon Artist to attend for one hour who twists balloons into different characters and hats and things.
We made centerpieces with balloons by drawing faces on the balloons and putting either party hats or curly ribbons on top of each balloon. We then printed bases for each centerpiece with heavy paper and weighted each balloon using the strip of heavy paper, printed with balloons and "Happy Birthday (child's name)" and balloon clip art, we made a ring and stapled it together then attached the balloon to a ziplock snack sized bag filled with sand and placed the bag inside the ring, giving the balloon head a "neck". They made great, very inexpensive centerpieces. Decorating was easy because it could have been any color and balloon accessories are easy to find. We had a water balloon toss and each child took home a helium balloon and his "balloon creation" made by the balloon artist instead of loot bags. We served cocktail sized hotdogs wrapped with baked pizza crust with purple and green ketchup, baby carrots and ranch dressing and goldfish crackers. The party was held at our local municipal park where we got a shelter next to a playground. The children had playground time, spent time with the balloon artist, played the water balloon toss and busted the pinata.
