F.I.V.E. Party for, who else, a five-year-old! To mark this milestone, we planned an at-home party based on the number five. Invitations were my son's hand-print with the following poem: Five
Is Very Exciting (For FIVE) For that's how old I'll be Please come to my FIVE party And celebrate this number with me. Cake, of course, was shaped like the number five. Guests made a
full-size drawing of my son (he laid down on a large roll of white paper), cut it out and played pin the number 5 on the drawing.
The target was a number 5 drawn on his shirt pocket. Other games included a variation of "Duck, duck, goose" to be Any number, any number, with 5 being the "goose" Also, we had a treasure hunt for nickels (easy spots for five-year-olds),and more. Create other variations of traditional party games. Guests received five trinkets for their FIVE goody bags, as well as a helium balloon with the number five. This was such an easy, yet unique, party for both boys and girls. You could go wild with the theme, or keep it really simple. The end result is a fun, special party that my now thirteen-year-old still remembers vividly!
