Construction Birthday 3yr old My son loves construction vehicle and wanted a construction party. First, for the invitations.  I printed out a picture of Bob the Builder from website and put it on the front with some construction stickers like cones and baracades.  One the inside it said "Foreman "D" is turing three, lets help him celebrate. Your shift time - 1pm to 3pm. At "Your last name" construction site. Come help us build and play.  I also included a puzzle I made of Bob the Builder. I just printed off a picture, colored it and cut it into large enough pieces for little one to put together.  From what I heard, the kids loved it. It was fun to get a little something with the invite to get them excited. On the day of the party, we had a blinking baracade in front of our house with balloons attached to it. We decorated with construction tape that said Caution and Work Zone found at a surplus store.  We had orange and yellow balloons with Bob the Builder on them.  For activities, we brought out our son's tool bench and any other play tool we could find along with blocks.  The kids had a great time just building different things. We also had a life-size Bob the Builder puzzle that they could put together. For a game, in advance, we took pictures of different tools they were playing with.  We hid them and they had to find them and put them in their tool belts. As for party favors, I purchased canvas tool aprons and put their names on them. Inside was a hammer cookie cutter since my son loves to bake cookies. And a snowman snow depth gauge that was made from a paint stick painted white with a red fabric piece glued on at the short curve part as a scarf. Little google eyes and black felt cut to make a top hat. On the back, inches were marked off so you could measure snow. Since it was winter time, it was so cute to see all the kids try them out as they left the party.  We served cake and ice cream too. The table was decorated with a bunch of small construction trucks (one for each child to take home).  We had orange and yellow plates and cups. For the cake, I took my sons Tonka Dump Truck and cleaned it out real well.  Lined it with cling wrap and put in some broken up brownie pieces to look like dirt.  I filled a dump truck up. I batch of browning works great. I also found some chocolates that look just like small rocks. Literally looks just like rocks. I just scattered them on top of the brownie dirt.  I served it with a plastic shovel.  The kids got such a kick out of eating dirt!  One little one would not touch it because her mom told her not to eat dirt! LOL.  We them opened present. I wrote everyones name on a piece of paper and placed them in a construction hat. The birthday boy would draw the name of the next person. The birthday boy was dressed like Bob the Builder - demin overall and flannel shirt. So was dad, but he wore a construction hat and his real tool belt. They all had a great time.
