Baking Birthday Party For my daughters 4th birthday we had a baking party since she loves to help me in the kitchen. Before the party I made each child a chef's hat and an apron made from a kitchen towel.  The guests arrived I gave them their hat and apron and had them stand with the birthday girl (also dressed up) in front of the oven. I later used this photo on the front of their thank you card. There were several activities going on at the same time and the children just going between stations. First they decorated a wooden spoon with markers and sparkle jewels ( a favorite of my daughter), then made their own biscuit (buy a can of the refrigerated biscuits and have them roll them flat and then choose a cookie cutter and make it into their own shape), and then over to make a "dog in a sweater" for lunch (a hot dog stuck on a stick and then wrapped around with a refrigerated breadstick.) After that was completed each child got to decorate their own mini birthday cake with frosting sprinkles, icing the works! While waiting to do the cake, the children were making butter! Take one cup of heavy cream and put it in a plastic bowl with a marble (helps it mix easier) and let the children take turns shaking it until it reaches the consistency of butter Next came the game "Pizza Pete." I had made a large pizza man holding an empty pizza. I told the children that silly Pizza Pete had forgotten where he put his ingredients so we needed to help him find them. Each child picked a paper ingredient out of a jar and then had to go find the bigger version of it hidden somewhere in the room. When they found it they got to put it on the pizza and they received their prize, a bag to hold candy in from the piņata (a big Hershey's Kiss!) The party favors (an A to Z cookbook made on my computer, a mini rolling pin, a mini baking pan) where sent home in a little pink bakery box tied with string. The boys loved the party as much as the girls did! Oh, the invitations were done to look like recipe cards and had a photo of my daughter in her chef's outfit on them. For lunch they ate their dogs in a sweater, little fruit kabobs, the biscuit with their butter and had their own cake and ice cream and snacked on the trail mix they had made themselves (set out bowls of M&Ms, dried fruit, nuts, pretzels, crackers etc. and give them bags to fill!) What fun!!
