For Abigail's 5th birthday, we adopted one of the cooking ideas and adapted it for Israel (not the same supplies here). We prepared aprons from an old white sheet for the girls (10 of
them) to color and decorate with marker pens, glitter glue and other pens.
We made chef's hats with white felt and tissue paper - a great success. After decorating the aprons outside they came in to prepare their pizzas complete with hats. Beforehand, they stood decked out in aprons and hats for a group photo, which will be included in the thank you notes. After the pizza and before food, we let off steam with pass the parcel (with enough cheapie sunglasses inside for all to win) and then hunt the Kinder chocolate egg with your name on. The girls then demanded a jump around with musical statues which wore them out ready for munchies and the birthday cake. Each girl was sent home with a tin foil baking tin with a small cake inside, the glasses (dutifully collected when they were not looking), some sweeties, a little surprise toy and a piece of the real birthday cake. The girls themselves arranged a make up corner and asked mum to give them a make over for going home with (main theme: princess!) Everyone really enjoyed it and the parents thought it was a great idea - thank you very much to this web site!
