I gave my 5 year old daughter a cooking party.
We had a great time. The invitations were made out of red and white checkered paper with a small picture of an apron and wooden spoon on the outside. We invited girls and their mothers. The mother's were able to assist their daughters with their cooking. As each girl arrived they were greeted by my daughter and given a chef hat and an apron. The chef hats were made out of poster board and white paper towels. The aprons were made out of hand towels. The girls then moved into the kitchen were they each made their own pizza on English muffins. While we were waiting for them to cook and cool, the girls played "pin the topping on the pizza". The crust was made of posterboard that I cut out and colored. The toppings I made were onions, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Then the girls got to eat their pizzas. They loved it!!! Following that, we sang "Happy Birthday" around the cake and opened presents. The cake I made was a chef hat. I cut a regular rectangular sheet cake to look like a chef hat and frosted it white with a grey outline. To finish out the party each girl was given a banana split bowl (from Dairy Queen) and they created their own ice cream sundae with an array of choices. The choices were chocolate syrup, nuts, cherries, sprinkles, bananas, M&M's, and much more. As each girl left, they were given a homemade cookbook of a few easy kids recipes. My daughter had a great time and so did her friends.
