Toddler's Cowboy/Cowgirl or Barn Birthday Party  For my son's 2nd Birthday, I was moving and could not do the party at my house, so I rented the Barn at a Petting Farm for a minimal amount.  The invitations were done on bandana print invitations purchased at an invitation store and run through the computer - saying, Zach is turning 2 / Ya'll come on over and help me celebrate with a Birthday Hoe-down, y'hear? / date / time / place / Ya'll come dressed and we'll provide the cowboy(girl) duds. / Give me a holler at #. I then purchased a twine of small jute rope and tied the rope in a laso shape circle and tied it in a knot at the corner of the invitation.  I also purchased western stickers and added to the bottom to make it more child-like.  The cake was a horse - I used a rocking horse cakepan found in most arts and crafts stores.  The snacks were put in spare cowboy hats with bandana napkins.  The goodies were straw cowboy hats purchased for $12 per dozen, cowboy/girl picture frames, sheriff's badges (all purchased from www.orientaltrading.com) and bandanas (I purchased bandana material from Wal-Mart and cut into triangles - cost about $.20 each).  The goodies cost about $1.55 per child. Activities - I brought a couple of stick horses, balls, rocking horses and just set them up in the room.  I also found pictures of farm animal coloring sheets on the internet and copied those and brought a bucket of crayons. The kids colored, ate, played with the stick horses and balls for about an hour.  We then went outside and played with the farm animals.  My thank-you notes were nice western invitations that I found on sale, because they only had a few left in stock, for $.10 each.  I used these as postcards, wrote on the invitation side and put address labels over the barcode on back. This also saved in postage.  My son is a Toy Story fan, so I went ahead and bought his Halloween costume so he could wear it at his party.  I also had the Toy Story 2 music in the background. All in all the party cost very little, and the kids (about 15 2 year olds) had a great time.  They loved the open space of the Petting Farm.
