For my daughter's first birthday, we decided to have a cupcake theme. We ordered plain cupcake invitations online and printed on them, Our little cupcake is turning one I found adorable
cucake balloon weights.
On every table I had 6 pastel balloons and one large mylar cupcake balloon. The party was called from 11am - 1pm. All the tables were covered in pastel plastic table cloths. We set up a buffet bagel brunch on one table and then on the dessert table I bought and borrowed an assortment of cake trays and cupcake stands and I ordered pastel rainbow frosted cupcakes in chocolate and vanilla and arranged them on all different tiers and plates and trays. The table was absolutely gorgeous. For thebabies I brought in a local music lady. Together she and I decided that she would bring insome kitchen utensils that the babies could play as instruments and called it "The Cupcake Kitchen Band" (cupcake tins and wood spoons pots and pans etc...). For the older kids I ordered some unfrosted cupcakes brought in a variety of different frosting sprinkles M&M's and other toppings. The older kids all got to decorate their own cupcake. Because it was my daughter's first birthday we had to have a smash cake. I didn't want to use a regular cupcake so I bought a cake pan made by Wilton in the shape of a cupcake. I decorated it with pastel frosting and it was darling! I found cupcake candles at the grocery store. For party favors I bought sippy cups for the kids that were 2 and under. I personalized each sippy cup with each child's name and drew a little cupcake (I used paint pens). For the children that were 2 and up they each got a make your own "Mini Cupcake Kit". These kits came in clear vinyl totes so I also personalized each of those as well. The kids and adults had a blast!"
