I have a 6 year old little girl who decided one year ago after her 5th birthday that she wanted a father daughter ball for her next party. I searched everywhere for ideas but there were
not any pertaining to father daughter balls for little girls only for girls either 16 or girls getting married. We have 5 children and I love big parties but this one by far exceeded
any of the other parties it was sensational and the credit goes to my 6 year old. We started by finding some really fancy invitations, we actually used a very unique birth announcement
and had them printed saying You are cordially invited to a Father Daughter Ball celebrating... Your child .. birthday Time Last Name Ballroom and our address. Girls wear your fanciest
dresses and dads come in your favorite tie. We're going to dance the night away!
She wanted the colors to be pink turquoise and purple. I borrowed and purchased yards and yards of tulle I also got silk flowers and turquoise ribbon. We started by clearing all of the furniture out of our living room we hung the tulle from the upstairs banister to the fan and over to the wall. We draped tulle everywhere we could. Over the entries tied to the back of the chairs. We had purchased scene setters from party city in the princess pattern and lined one our walls I got two balloon bouquets and placed a chair all in front of the wall for a picture perfect background. We hooked our ipod up to some big speakers and I got one of our babysitters to play DJ. There is some wonderful Disney girl music and you can also find some really sweet slow songs so they can slow dance with their dads. As the girls and dads began to arrive dads in suits and the little girls dressed out of this world some even got their hair done for the occasion it was adorable I sat them in the chair by the balloons and took a couple of pictures of them with a digital camera. The music was already playing and they had come to dance. We served chicken fingers chips we had a vegetable tray and little pigs in a blanket (breakfast sausage in croissants) I fixed pink punch with strawberry sherbert ice cream and sprite it was delicious. The Cupid Shuffle is a sure fire way to get girls to dance so when we played that song the girls really got busy. While the girls danced I sent my niece to the local Walgreens to have the pictures of the girls and their dads printed out. I had purchased some adorable frames from the dollar store so when they returned with the pictures they put each one in a frame. I also got the little bags that came with her plates and napkins and filled those with some candy. We had a two tiered turquoise fondant cake made with pink and white polka dots and stripes and a huge bow on top perfect for the theme. I lit candles and placed them up high and lowered the lights for a disco ball I had found at party city. All of this added to the mood of the party she really wanted it to be like a royal ball and it was! The turn out of friends was so amazing and hectic at present time I had each child get the present they brought and they took turns standing with her while she opened their present it was a good way to get a picture with each friend also. After presents we sang happy birthday ate cake and did the cupid shuffle once more. At the end of the night we made an announcement that we had a special father daughter song and all the dads got their little girls most holding them we played Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman and they danced the night away! As they left I had set out the pictures on a table and each girl grabbed her frame and a candy bag. Even the most quiet dads camedanced and thanked me for a fabulous night with their daughter a few of the girls came with their grandpas it was the most memorable night! I would recommend this party for everyone but be ready to shed a few tears when you see those girls loving their daddies there is nothing sweeter!! "
