For my daughter's 13th birthday, we decided to throw her a party with a night club theme. In order to make this party successful, we suggest inviting 8-13 girls that get along with each other. We also suggest that this party be at least 2-4 hours long at the minimum to fit all the activities in. INVITATIONS: For the invitations, we wrote all the party information on black paper with glow and the dark pens. In case the guests couldn't read it in the dark, we wrote in normally on the back side.  PREPARATION: For this party, we cleared out our basement, dusted it, and cleaned it up. Then, we covered the walls in black paper and painted on glow in the dark stars and other shapes. We hung 3 disco balls from the ceiling, put a strobe light in the corner, and put about 4 lava lamps around the room. From the dollar store, we bought, for $3 each, 5 green inflatable chairs. We hung green Christmas lights around the room as well. We also rented, for $15, a fog machine and a bubble machine. On one end of the basement, we took my husbands rectangular desk, put one end against the wall, and one side about 3 feet from the back wall, creating a bar look. My husband dressed up in techno clothes and served drinks (see food below). On the other end of the basement, we put a stereo, two microphones, and several CD's (all of this equipment rented at a local music store, and the CD's were all my daughter's). This was used for karaoke. ACTIVITIES: When the guests arrived, we started up the music and they chatted until everyone was there. To get them warmed up, we put on DARREN'S DANCE MOVES, a video to teach them cool dances. Then, we set them free to dance for about 30 minutes and then we did karaoke. There were about 10 CD's from my daughter's collection to choose from. We also typed out the lyrics on a piece of paper before the party. After learning the dance, dancing, and kareoke; they ate dinner. For dinner (see food below), we put the food out on the "bar" and they just sat around on the inflatable chairs or around the room gossiping. This lasted about 30 minutes. After dinner, we did two quiet activities to calm them down before they went home. First, I would put on a song and they would have to guess which one it is. The person with the most correct answers would win a prize such as a music poster, hit clips (mini walkman with one song on it - about $5-10.), or some other prize with a music theme. Then, for the last activity, we put on a series of popular music videos that we had rented from the video store. Finally, it was time to go home. The kids had a blast! FOOD: Before dinner, we laid out (on the bar) vegetables and dip, chips and dip, and some sour candies. We also had a bartender (my husband) to serve drinks such as soda's and a drink we made up called AlienAde (sprite or 7up with green food coloring). We also had juices and water. For dinner, we had miniature hamburgers, pizza bagels, and salad. For the cake, I made a round chocolate cake with frosting, decorated to look like a disco ball. FAVORS: For the "goodie" bags, I included an alien key chain, a mini lava lamp, an Aaron Carter poster, and one HitClips mini walkman (all from the dollar store). This party was a huge success!
