Dinosaur party
We had children ranging from 3 - 9 years. It was over a week worth of preparation (I had my 3 year old to help me out, and he loved it). We did dinosaur eggs with paper mache, inside we put the dinosaurs, which you put in water and they get bigger. We made a dinosaur (T-rex) skeleton out of salt dough, it was the size of a human adult. Out of cardoboard boxes we made different shapes and sizes of dino foot prints. And I made decorations matching dinosaur age (volcano, huge paper dinosaurs, a sign Lukas Park (as in Jurassic Park, Luka ewas the birthday child). On the birthday I sent all the kids (and one adult) into the local forest to pick fern or grass for the dino nest and in the mean time I decorated the place. I also put white paper on one of the walls in the house and drew different dinosaurs on it. When kids came back with the grass and fern we made a jungle out of grass and fern and in the jungle there was this dino nest. When they opened the eggs they loved to compare different dinos that hatched and they put them in water and kept on watching how they grow. Then they put the dino footprints on their feet and walked around for a while, chasing eachother then we led them to find the dinosaur skeleton, which I hid in the grass and covered it prior to the chase. After they got tired of outdoor activities they went into the house and each got a color and a brush and they colored all the huge dinosaurs on the wall. They loved it. I have pictures of the event if anyone is interested, for next 14 days they will be also available on my sons web page www2.arnes.si/~surelovs/tristan or www.oneyed.com/tristan
