My daughter wanted a Sleeping Beauty birthday party for her sixth birthday this year. We made homemade invitations by printing off a picture of sleeping beauty on the internet and mounting it
on blank cards. Then on the inside my daughter decorated it with jewels and we printed on the cards, Hear Ye Hear Ye _____ is turning 6! Come celebrate with us and dress up as your favorite
princess!" They little girls arrived dressed in princess costumes and they colored free coloring pages of Sleeping Beauty that we printed off the internet. Each girl had their own packet
of princess crayons we got at the dollar store. The room was decorated in pink and yellow...balloons and streamers draped throughout the kitchen above the table and fake rose petals sprinkled
on the table. We had a pink tablecloth and pink plates and napkins. We made each girl a a place setting with a picture of Sleeping Beauty and my daughter wrote "Princess ____"
(their name) on each one. We made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and let the girls use a heart cookie cutter to cut out their sandwich. Each girl had a small plastic "champagne
glass" with pink ribbon tied on the stem and we served sparkling princess punch (aka Sprite). About 30 minutes into the party the real Sleeping Beauty rang the doorbell.(A friend of ours
who my daughter doesn't know came dressed in a Sleeping Beauty costume we rented for her.) She came in and read the girls the Sleeping Beauty story made princess wands gave the girls princess
tatoos and painted hearts on their faces. Then she served them cake! Each girl had their picture taken with her and we used that to put in each of the girl's thank-you cards. Each girl took
home a goodie bag filled with "princess stuff"--much of it from the dollar store (candy bracelets lip gloss rings gel pens princess fruit snacks rings sparkly headbands). My
daughter was thrilled and was pretty sure she saw "hoof tracks" from the carriage in the front yard! All in all this party was VERY inexpensive but so much fun!!!!"
