Disney Princess party for 14 yr. olds - Just finished doing a fun celebration for my daughter... and her two best friends. We created invitations using "googled" Disney princess pictures.  We added craft foam princess themed die cuts and had the envelopes hand-stamped at the post office. We invited Jillian's friends to lunch at a restaurant, bowling, and then dessert/cake (Dairy Queen Disney Princess themed) back at our house. At lunch, the girls were given a treat bag that included:  a disposable camera; gum; candy; scrapbook stickers; and a matching gel pen (purple, pink, & light blue). Earlier in the week, I mailed a Cinderella card that Jillian found prior to the party - Inside the card is the first note of the hunt:  1)  Come hither Fair Maiden ~ we celebrate still ~              the 14th birthday of Princess Jill(ian)       (Enclosed smaller envelope) Open only when guests arrive!    2) School may have ended, but your work is not done ~              You must solve each riddle - one by one!            Go back to the box from whence you came ~             Consider the place where you learned of this game.      (In mailbox outside)         3)  Well done ladies!               Whoop-De-Do!!!              Now onward you go ~ to clue #2!              Think of a spot Cinderella would clean               A "picture perfect" shot of our birthday queen.             (Behind mantle photo of Jillian)             4)  Two thumbs up for your A+ work                Clue #3 includes a sweet perk!                 Where would you find a "sad rabbit" snack?                 A chilling discovery on a deep freeze rack!         5)  (Blue Bunny brand ice cream treats in the freezer)               Bravo Young Maidens!  You're half way there ~              Think kingdoms & castles & long, braided hair!               Pack your tiara, glass slippers, & pearls ~              Bring along friends ~ This is strictly for girls!              Now climb to the "tower" and search for a box ~              It's 12 inches tall and buried in socks!               (Good news, they're clean!)              6) (Disney Gram Kermit & Miss Piggy in bedroom closet with a trio of fun socks draped over the wrapped package)                   Don't tell Miss Piggy - she's hard to convince.                     She was part of this duo,                      We needed a prince!                   No fancy shoes or formal dresses;    No evil spells or R.O.U.S.es! (This line is in reference to the movie The Princess Bride)                Just head to the "cellar" and look for Belle, ~                    Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel!!                    Cinderella & Jasmine have dropped in, too!                   There's a sack full of fun - waiting for you!   (Disney Princess party bag in the basement filled with princess DVDs: Snow White, Beauty & The Beast, Princess Diaries 1 & 2, Ella Enchanted, The Princess Bride, & Ever After - all of these are movies we already owned - not intended as gifts to Jillian; microwave popcorn; candy (I added personalized princess stickers to rolls of Creme Saver candies & included candy bars tied with pink ribbon, & Disney Princess suckers); Muppets Uno card game; Disney Princess playing cards, & "Peel & Stick" foam craft activities: photo flip book, door hangers, and crowns w/princess add-ons and letters to personalize crafts)                       (Note inside bag-o-fun:)                  May this night be filled with unlimited laughter,                   and scenes overflowing with                  "Happily Ever After"!  The girls spent a long time in the basement - decorating with the foamy die-cuts and listening to Disney Princess music.  For breakfast the next morning, I served coffee-cake muffins (baked in Disney Princess cupcake liners), chocolate chip mini muffins, & grapes on Disney Princess plates/napkins. I used 2 different colored/sized tablecloths - layered to show both colors and sprinkled simple confetti down the center of the table.  To dress up the table, I put long-stemmed 'crystal' glasses next to each plate for their juice or milk. They loved it! (Everything tastes better on/in fancy dishes! :) )
