I started planning my daughters 4th birthday party in january. She is crazy about Disney Princesses, so it just seemed like the perfect idea to have a Princess theme. For the invites I stuck
pretty spotty pink paper on to a square card then on top of that I stuck a black and white photo of my daughter in the centre of the card. I then cut out crowns out of Gold paper and stuck
these to the photo so it looked like my daughter was wearing a crown in the photo. Inside the invite it read: Calling all Princesses, Princes and Knights, Princess Grace is turning four years
old. To celebrate this wonderful occasion Princess grace would like to invite you to a royal ball marking her fourth year. Come one come all in your finest royal attire
to_____________________________. Please have your carriage arrive at two oclock in the afternoon on the third day of April 2010. Follow the red carpet where Princess Grace and her Royal court
will eagerly be awaiting your arrival. Please reply by thirty first day of March if you intend to come. For decorations I used Gold and Pink Balloons, for the rest of the decorations I used
all Disney Princess themed products including scene setters, tablecloths, table confetti,I also used my daughters sleeping beauty, Belle and Cinderella dolls and also put out her Pop up
castle.
I printed out lots of disney colouring sheets, and along with these I put out Cardboard crowns for the children to decorate with feathers, stickers and stick on jewels. Once the children had made their crowns we played the first games. These included Pass Cinderella's slipper( like pass the parcel only using a dressing up shoe)then we played Princess Jasmine's Magical musical carpets( like musical chairs only using carpet squares)and Pass Mrs Potts(again like pass the parcel only using a giant teapot filled with sweets. During these games we played the appropriate music from the films. After the Games I Had my father-in-law tell a story with the help of his puppet Dog Alphie(he uses puppets as part of his work in schools. He made up a story of a princess who had a party. My daughter wore a snow white dress, my 2 year old wore a frog costume with a crown and a sign saying Kiss me on. Most of the guests dressed up - we had a Knight a few Kings and nearly every kind of disney princess you could imagine. After the Story it was time for food. I had bought Disney Princess tableware which was Gold and Pink and looked very regal. For the food We had dips and Crudites( cherry tomatoes, cucumber and carrots) dainty cheese sandwiches, Princess Pizza, crisps(chips), Jam tarts and Homemade cupcakes decorated with pastel Icing, Sugar flowers and edible glitter. I made a chocolate birthday cake and stuck on some tiny snow white figures, simple yet affective. After food the children played pin the kiss on the frog( I painted a huge frog on a large sheet of paper and each child had to put some lipstick on then close their eyes and try to kiss the frogs lips. As it was easter Sunday the next day I finished the party off by having an Easter egg hunt. I had hidden cardboard Easter eggs before the the party had started. The children and parents loved hunting for the eggs and when they found them they brought them to me and they exchanged them for a real chocolate easter egg and a favor bag. In the girls favor bags they had candy and a disney princess neckless. The boys had candy and a few plastic frogs. All the children sememed to enjoy and the parents too!
