Disney Princess for 5 year old/Inexpensive! I had a Disney Princess party for my daughter on a very limited budget. First, we hung her Princess poster on the front door. It came out of a
coloring book that also has an Ariel cutout on the back for a pin the tail on the donkey-type of game. I bought a pack of DP balloons and hung them on our porch. When the girls came into the
house, I had all of the DP videos displayed near the TV as decorations (also as an option if we hit a "low" period or people got out of hand; neither of which happened). I used a
square cardtable resting on its side and covered it with layers of blue, green and brown construction paper, cut out to resemble the ocean and the beach. We attached the Ariel cutout to a
construction paper "rock" in the water and they played the game, trying to tape her tail on. The prize for the guest who taped it the closest was to pick one of the DP stories (I
also displayed our books as decorations), which I would read to them while they colored in their personalized DP coloring books. I printed DP coloring pages off the web and made a cover on
each book with the DP graphics and the child's name. After that, we made Princess purses. I purchased cheap balsawood heart shaped "purses" from a craft store and spray painted them
white prior to the party. The girls took turns using glue and glued fake rhinestones on them (also from the craft store). While they were drying, we had our castle cake. The directions are on
birthdayexpress.com. To make it a DP cake, I added my daughters 4 Princess figurines from the Disney store and set them in front of the castle. I used the paper cups, plates and napkins in
the DP theme, but a generic pink paper tablecloth to cut the cost a bit. They had cake, M&M ice cream(my daughter's request) and lemonade. When the party was ending, I filled up the
jeweled purses with favors: a couple DP stickers, one bottle of BonBon nail polish (bought one 6 pack at Wal-Mart and divided it up), a beaded necklace (bought a lot of 12 new ones on eBay
for $1), and individual pack of DP fruit snacks and a Princess(not Disney) mini activity book (2/$1 at Wal-Mart). The girls had a wonderful time and it was extremely inexpensive.
