For my daughter's 5th birthday, we had a Disney princess party. First we asked all of the girls to come dressed as their favorite princess.
All of them did and just loved it. They looked so cute parading into the house on party day. I used a large cardboard box that was easily made into a castle as a photo -op for each girl when she arrived. TO make the castle I used only two sides of the box, I stood it on it's side like a file folder. I cut two more pieces of the box to use as the towers. I Painted the entire box gray and used black spray paint to make it look like cinder blocks. I painted the tops of the towers bright blue. When the paint dried I used spray glue and sprinkled silver glitter all over it. The castle looked great. We used it for photo taking as well as "scenery" for the party. I used the Birthday Princess banner to hang across the top of the castle. I also used the Princess medallions to hang in several rooms of the house. On the first medallion Cinderella and Ariel were the stars. Each activity was related to the princess. For Cinderella the girls made wands out of pipe cleaners, beads and the plastic tubes found a party store for Mylar balloons. The girls and their moms loved this activity. They also got to decorate paper crowns with stickers. For Ariel I filled a plastic container with sand and they each got a turn to dig for a treasure. In the Snow white/Sleeping beauty room we played games. We read a Snow White story and passed an apple each time "Snow White" was said. The last girl with the apple at the end of the story got a prize. I printed a coloring activity from Disney and made Sleeping Beauty. We played put the Rose in Aurora's hand using rose stickers. Jasmine and Belle hosted the cake and ice cream in the dining room. We had a gorgeous castle cake with Princess figurines and all of the princess partyware. For the goody bags, the girls got some coloring pages I printed from the internet, crayons, Princess Stickers and some candy. They had a great time and my daughter loved it. The moms had fun too.
