For my daughter's 4th birthday she wanted a Disney princess party.
We sent out the invitations and I reserved our clubhouse for the day. I wanted to make sure each "princess" had something personalized to take home with her that day. I surfed around the Disney websites (they have many) and found coloring pages to download and print out. I printed out each princess and copied them (for a total of about 50 pages total)to put together a coloring book. For the covers I found online a character photograph of the princesses that I also downloaded and printed out in color. They are each a 5" x 7" picture. I pasted each one onto a bright colored piece of paper (pink, purple, green, blue, etc.) and then glued that onto a plain white cover sheet. I then bound each book together and put a clear sheet on top and made labels with each girls' name to identify her book. For the crayon part I purchased inexpensive glitter crayons (boxes of 8) and wrapped the crayons (not the box) in a sheer pineapple colored square piece of material and tied it with a pink/purple wired ribbon. I then put all the crayon packs in a basket that I had draped with a sheer pink material and tied additional wired ribbon around. It looked very beautiful and princessy!! As each girl arrived I handed her coloring book and name tag (which I also made on round labels) and instructed her to take some crayons from the basket. They all colored for 1/2 an hour until Beauty came (from Beauty and the Beast) to take over with games and a tea party! They were all mesmerized! Beauty even brought each girl a princess skirt to wear while doing the hokey pokey! She then sang Happy Birthday and cut the cake with everyone! Beauty was definitely a hit! And finally as they all left I handed each princess a Belle bookmark that I found on the Disney website, downloaded, printed and took to Kinko's and had laminated ($4.00 total!) This party was very inexpensive and I'm sure each princess will remember for a very long time!
