My daughter turned four last week and had a Disney Princess party. When the guests arrived they each received a pink party hat with a strip of tulle attached to the end, and were given an
opportunity to add sequins, glitter, and feathers, thereby creating their own princess hat. For the games I printed out poster sized Princess pictures from the internet and labeled each
princess with her game.
The children bobbed for apples with Snow White, played musical magical carpets (towels) with Jasmine, played pin the slipper on Cinderella, and had an Under the Sea treasure hunt with Ariel where the girls found "jewels" (beads) and then made necklaces with them. The cake was a large castle of pink and white - I took and made three 9" round layers for the main portion of the castle, and then had four edible towers that I baked in large spaghetti sauce cans. On the top of each tower was a turret consisting of an ice cream cone lightly frosted, and then rolled in bright pink sugar. All around and on top of the cake were the Disney princess figurines - most of which can be found at The Disney Store. The girls also had pink ice cream with the cake, pink punch made from sherbet and ginger ale, and star cookies that were, of course, pink. On the healthier side, Cinderella's coach (a pumpkin) was filled with spinach dip for veggies and crackers. The girls' treat bags where filled with Disney Princess fruit roll-ups, Princess pencils, and magical wands made from Rice Krispy bars on sticks sprinkled with sugar. My daughter and her friends had a great time, and the only thing I wish is that I would have had the girls take a nap with Sleeping Beauty!
