My daughter celebrated her 3rd birthday with a Disney Princess party. We rented the local gymnastics center and set up the following centers, with pictures of the princesses at each one:
Cinderella-hid "glass" slipper in the pit (large area of foam blocks); Belle-taped plastic roses to the sides of a long trampoline; Snow White-put "poisoned" (plastic)
apples on a low beam, and the girls had to step over the apples; Sleeping Beauty-used a magic wand to wave to run and stopped it for the girls to freeze; Ariel-crawled through a tunnel
(undersea grotto) and the gym provided fish decorations; Jasmine-jumped on the gym's bouncy balls. Pocahontas is Rebecca's favorite character, so we put body "crystals", which were
more like felt stickers, on the girls. We printed an invitation to the "Royal Gala" with an old-world font on paper with a scroll background (from Wal-Mart). The party favors were
Disney princess stickers, clear plastic hearts filled with glitter and confetti, labeled "Fairy Godmother's Magic Dust" and tied with ribbons, Princess party blowers, and Princess
fruit roll-ups. We also played a Princess tape throughout the party. The girls loved running around and playing on the equipment, and I was happy I found a way to incorporate the Princesses.
The coaches at the gym were very cooperative and went along with all the activities. Rebecca still wonders why her party is over!
