We had a dog theme party just for the fun of it.
It was for toddlers. My mom and I bought furry fabric and cut out dog ears and stapled them to ribbon. Each child had a pair of ears. I dressed like a dog with a fuzzy coat and dog ears and a dog tail. I made myself a collar out of old jewelry and a ribbon and tied it on. My girlfriend does face painting and she painted dog noses on everyone. We played pin the yellow spot on the hydrant. We made the hydrant out of red cardboard and cut out yellow spots. We sang dog songs like, "Oh Where or Where has my little dog gone?" etc... For the lunch we served hot dogs, puppy chow (the chex, peanut butter and chocolate recipe), scooby doo crackers, vegetables, and milk. I found orange dog sippy cups from Walmart. We served the food on the animal face plates that are at most discount stores. I made each child a dog out of canned pear halves turned to the side. And used raisins for the eyes, a halved cherry for the nose, and a quarter of a peach for the ear. My mom made a dog cake by using two round cakes. The dog looked like Blues Clues. She used blue frosting and colored coconut blue for the fur. We found a shiny gold circle for the dog tag and used black licorice for the collar. Of course the two real dogs of the house joined the children at the table only for cake. The dogs sat at the table and were served cake too. The children loved the party. It was a lot of fun.
