For my son's 2nd birthday I wanted to do something different, so we had a Puppy Party!
Since he is in day care, we wanted to be able to include the kids there that may not make it to his party at our house. I had friends and family start going through their stash of stuffed toys and find all the puppies they could. We even found some at the local resale shop! (All were washed and dried before the party!) The day care was nice enough to let us come in at snack time to do the party. I purchased cocoa puffs and kix cereal and mixed them together to make puppy chow, which was served in little "doggy" bowls I got at the dollar store. Each child got a goody bag with a "puppy", a whistle, puppy stickers, lolly pops and a dog bone shaped cookie which I had made and wrapped each one with plastic wrap and tied with ribbon. I found medium sized handled, shopping bags with pictures of dogs all over them for the kids to take home their goodies. The stuffed puppies went over really great! The day care owner even liked the idea!
