My duaghter wanted a baby party for her 3rd birthday. I made the invitations on the computer and wrote: Little Mommies and Daddies we had balloons and my rectangular coffee table with
pink polka dot fabric as a table cloth in the kitchen. This is where I set up the tea cup and tea pots. I had pink and white polka dot plates napkins and cups and pink and white
plastic wear. For the cake I made a 3-D teapot and tea cups similar to the one found on the Wilton website though I used pyrex bowls to make the cake instead of their specialized pan.
Activities: as the guests arrived they played with their dolls/stuffed animals in the area I had set up with the doll furniture. I took a picutre of each child with their doll/stuffed animal. While they played I pulled the girls one at a time to paint their nails. They also got a princess ring so they were pretty for their tea party. The boys got tatoos so they didn't feel left out. When we were ready for cake each child picked a doll quilt that I had made and put their babies to sleep. I ordered a kit from Oriental Trader so the kids could made picture frames. They just stuck tissue paper squares to the frame. It was very easy for them to do and I set them aside to put the child's picture I had taken. I sent them with thank you notes after the party. Then we had cake and tea. I found some small porcelin tea sets at Walmart on clearence for $3.00 a set. I painted each child's initial on a cup so they knew where to sit. The children got to pour their own tea (Tazo tea mixed with apple juice and raspberry juice) which was the hit of the whole party. I wasn't sure they would like it but they all asked for more. In addition to the cake I also make mini cupcakes and small bite sized sugar cookies. After cake and tea we played a game where I had baby stickers on a heart on the floor. The kids walked around the hearts while music played then stood on one when the music stopped. I then picked from a bowl a sticker. Whoever was standing on the matching sticker won a baby bottle sucker. We played until everyone won. Then we opened presents. As Favors I made diaper bags. Each child got one bag of their choice the doll quilt of their choice a small book candy necklace baby bottle sucker lip gloss their tea cup and their princess ring. All the kids had a great time!"
