My son's fourth birthday party was "The Cat in The Hat" theme. We did the party outside so not many decorations. I had a big Cat in the Hat cardboard cut out attached to the gate to
enter the patio area. The cat was holding a sign that read Happy Birthday. We of course did red and blue balloons. Activities: We made hats red and white striped just like The Cat wears. We
prepared them prior to the party by cutting strips of red and white posterboard and attached a brim to one white strip. The children taped them together with packing tape, of course the moms
helped. We then put elastic to the brim so they would fit nicely on the children. Each child painted a white t-shirt with fabric markers and puff paints, they really had fun with that.I had
purchased a wooden box and painted it red and my husband made a spring board out of wood and such and we played a game of trying to get Thing One and Thing Two(stuffed animals)back into the
red wood box. the children played on the jungle gym and had a great time. Of course we took lots of pictures with their hats on. My friend made the cake it was red and white ,sheet cake and
then three stacked round cakes on top and decorated like the hat. Thing one and Thing two coming out of a red wood box also decorated the cake. Of course all party supplies had Cat and The
Hat theme purchased from birthday express. Goodie bags were filled with candy, Magic Sand kits, tattoos, plus of course they took home their hats and shirts. We served pizza and punch for a
late lunch bacause the party was at 3:00. Every body had a great time and I had a blast preparing this kiddie party for 17 preschoolers!
