Last August, my daughter planned a 'Dr. Seuss' party for her son, Riley.
(This was before "The Cat in the Hat Movie" came out.) We couldn't find a lot of things in the store or very many supplies for the party, so she made her own. She designed and made 'Cat in the Hat' hats out of felt for each of the children. Then we made a sign which read "Welcome to Seussville from Mayor Riley, who's two" We held the party at a park and decorated the pavillion with red and white crepe paper and red, white, blue and black balloons. On the table was a directional sign with arrows pointing in different directions that read Frankfurter Roasts Hop on Pop Green Eggs and Ham Frankfurter Roasts were corndogs, Hop on pop was a can of soda with a label we had made on the computer that had a picture from the book of the kids hopping on the letter 'O' of the word pop. The cake was a green ham with eggs made out of green "Airheads" candies. We served Mint chocolate chip ice cream. Also served were "Mr. Brown can Moo, Can You" cheese cubes. The goodie bags were yellow with green stars (representing the 'Sneetches'.) Each bag contained A pair of socks with a tag that read "Fox in Socks" A bag of multi-colored swedish fish candies with a tag that read "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" An activity/coloring book we had printed from the Seussville web page, and crayons. (the soda pop and the hat were considered part of the goodie bag.) Everyone had a fun time and we got a cute picture of all the kids wearing their hats.
