For our daughters 7th birthday she decided to have a MOVIE STAR theme. We contacted a local funeral home and rented their limo for the night. (It was very, very reasonable compared to renting from a limo company).  We let her invite 7 guests, because that would fill the limo!  The party invitations were designed on the computer to look like a movie poster. We inserted out daughters picture announcing her as the star.  We then listed all of her friends she invited as "co-stars". We even added some of my daughters favorite stars to the cast list, like Hillary Duff,Lindsey Lohen, and Ann Hathaway.  We flashed across the top of the "poster" OPENING NIGHT, which was her birthday. We also included in the invitation announcing FORMAL DRESS REQUIRED. It was also a slumber party, so the girls were also to bring their pajamas!  We arranged for the limo to begin picking up the girls at 5:00.  By 5:40 we had all the girls loaded. We had made reservations at a local pizza restaurant and each girl walked in one at a time. When they entered the restaurant, the manager announced over the loudspeaker each girls name.  (All the other diners applauded and thought it was so cool.) The girls ate in a private room and watched CMT videos. (My daughter likes country music).  After dinner they went to the local amusement park and rode the merry-go-round still wearing their evening attire! The limo then took the girls to our house for the slumber party. We rolled out the red carpet(bought from a remnant dealer) and the girls entered our den which was turned into a movie theater. After a quick change into pajamas the girls watched The Pacifer. We turned one corner of the room into a concession stand. Our 11 year old son ran that.  We had popcorn, nachos, junior mints, twizzlers, hot tamales, and reeses pieces for snacks. We also served frozen "cocktails" which he made up in the blender. We had Cherry Koolaid mixed with 7-Up, and Orange Kool Aid mixed with Ginger Ale.  We bought the ice from Sonic which was perfect for the blender. Each girl got a umbrella straw, and we garnished the drinks with cherries and pineapple chunks.  They loved it!  After the movie my sister-in-law who is a beatician came and gave the girls pedicures and manicures. I brought in four twin mattresses and covered the floor for the giant bed. They finally went to sleep at about 2:00 am.  We served them breakfast in bed the next morning at 10:00 which was simple two pancakes and a slice of bacon. She opened her gifts after breakfast.  I then let them have the birthday cake which was a star design. The parents began picking up the kids at noon.  Their party favors were sunglasses and flavored lip balm, and also a gift certificate to the local bargain movie theater.  Total cost of the favor bags was under 4 dollars. This was actually a cheap party compared to others we have had.  The girls absolutley loved the party. Especially the manicures and pedicures.  The parents told us their daughters have talked non stop about her party!
