For my daughters 5th B-day we had a Dress-Up Tea Party. The invitations read: She is princess for a day, So let's dress up and play!
Fluffy dresses and sparkling shoes, there will be lots for you to choose. Your crown is ready; your jewels are too. We picked them out especially for you! To make your appointment for April's "Amazing" nails; Ashley's "Awesome" Up-dos, Hayley's "Hip" Makeup and Julies's "Princess" Photos please call. Also on the invitation I said come dressed pretty as a Princess or we will have many dresses for you to choose from. Most of the girls came dressed up, but I had lots of dresses hanging up on a clothing rack for them to choose from. I got these from lots of friends that have had daughters and don't dress up anymore. I had all the stations set up for their hair, makeup, nails and one station they got to decorate a picture frame that has a magnet on the back to hang on a fridge. (We found these at Target for $1.35 each) The girls decorated them with jewels & stickers~ this was one of their party favors. I also had another station where that had there picture taken on a little white bench with twulle after they were all done with their hair & makeup. While the party was going on, a family memeber printed out the picture so they could put it in the frame to take home. I rented 2 children's tables and these really neat kids white wooden chairs. I put the tables together to make a big square table~I had 16 little girls fit around. I decorated the tables with pink table clothes. Each girl had a place card with their name. Each place setting was a small plastic crystal plate from a party store and small tea cups with saucers. I served lemonaide, apple juice & the sweetened lipton tea with lemon for drinks. I had egg salad, turkey, cheese and peanut butter mini sandwiches cut in little triangles. I also had little smokies wrapped in cresents, carrots with ranch and the hit was these mini bannana muffins I made from a banana bread recipe. I had my helpers serve the girls with these little plastic silver trays you can also find at party stores. I had the room decorated in twulle from a fabric store and white Christmas lights all around. I made a doll dress cake and put Tinkerbell barbie in it and had it on top of a big sheet cake from Costco. The party bags included Princess fruit snacks, stickers, princess pencils, their frame with picture and necklaces and crowns I had found at the dollar store. When they all finished eating I took a big group picture. My family members who helped out dressed up also. I wore a bridesmaid dress that was blue and Cinderella crown and gloves. Another friend wore a big fluffy bridesmaid dress as well with a crown. The girls loved how the adults dressed up. This party was so much fun!
