For my daughter's 5th birthday, we had a Dress up Diva party. All the girls got an invitation in the shape of a dress, with a wide brimmed hat that pulled up out of the dress with the
invite information written inside. It stated that the girls should come for lunch, craft and rehearsal, and then the Mom's should come at a predetermined time to see their daughters in
a fashion show.
The girls at their lunch then craft was to chose flowers and ribbon for their wide brimmed hat and they suggested where their flowers were to be placed while someone else (adult) helped to adhere the flowers with a hot glue gun. Then the girls go to bead their own bracelets, and someone else helped them to get dressed in assorted dresses I picked up at a 2nd hand store and altered them to fit the young girls. They got some pretend makeup on (eyeshadow and lip gloss) and then had their practice run of the fashion show, the walkway was laid out in our living room, just a 10 foot piece of cheap fabric I found at a fabric store, lined with Christmas lights and silk plants. Shortly after that, the Mom's showed up, so we had the fashion show, and I previously went through a fashion magazine to get my wordage, which went something like this: "Introducing Hanna, who is modeling a famed Giorgio Armani purple dress, Furstenberg handbag, and an original Hanna wide brimmed hat. Emma is wearing a Pucci gold dress, Missoni handbag, and an original Emma style wide brimmed hat. Blaire is gorgeous in her Marc Bouwer halter dress, Dolce & Gabbana purse and an original Blaire ribboned hat... etc.) The girls were twirling, and cutseying and it looked absolutely priceless! I had soft music playing in the background, and afterwards, the girls and Mom's had coffee, tea and cake adn tehn went home with a goodie bag, and the hats and bracelets they made. my daughter still has hers hanging up in her room, two 1/2 years later.
