The wedding Party  My daughter Emily was intrigued by weddings. My mother took her to the church everytime someone married just so she could see the bride's  gown and the maids dresses, even if they didn;t know the family!!!She and her best friend played"wedding" so for her birthday we had a Wedding...With out the groom .. However my nephew stood in and it was an event to remember. the girls came dressed in their "attendent's gowns" Some of them wore dress up clothes and some were in pagents dresses.|{ I had told the Moms to bring play clothes to change into after the wedding} Because the girls were age 4 to 7 they were thrilled to be able to get to wear their dress up clothes out in public Emily was a beautiful bride and as each child arrived the had their picture (polyroid so they culd have theirs when they left)made with Emily in an arifical trellis my brother had made out of PBC pipe and atificial roses and vines. We had the bride's book,all the details of a wedding and reception and after the wedding we took a group picture to put in the social section of the local paper. My mother polished the silver and used her finest silver and crystal serving dishes so that the table with its white table cloth and bouquet of roses looked like a catered reception.I borrowed an antique milk glass punch bowl to serve the lime shebet\ginger ale punch. WE ate mixed nuts and the little mints and of course the bakery made a beautiful downsized wedding cake. The girls used their best manners and loved acting so grown up. After they ate we let them chang clothes and be children again and swing and play. Goodie bags had lipstick and a mirror brush and candy. We had a great time planning this party. Emily felt extra special since she was the only bride. She is 12 now and the girls still talka bout that party... I guess you know we had a baby shower theme the next year.   z.
