For my daughter's 3rd birthday, she had a wedding party.
She and her "boyfriend" got married. The invitations looked like wedding announcements and asked the girl guests to wear their prettiest pink dress and the boys to wear black pants and a white shirt. I made "pearl" necklaces and special hairbows for the girls and made black bowties for the boys. Each of the girls had a ring and a basket filled with rose petals. Prior to the wedding, I separated the boys and girls and each of the girls had their hair fixed, nails painted and makeup done!! The boys fixed their hair and generally did boy things - run around and giggle at the girls. My mother was in charge of videotaping and interviewed each of the children to see what they thought about the wedding, etc. For the actual wedding, the bride's brother gave her away, each of the girls were flower girls and the boys walked down the aisle. My father was the preacher and talked them through special vows written for them. It was so cute. My daughter and her boyfriend were the best of friends and hugged and kissed afterwards. We had the wedding dance afterwards too! I served Sprite in champagne glasses and my mother made a special reduced sized wedding cake where they each put their finger in it and put some icing on each other's nose. The guests had a wonderful time and everyone still talks about the party.
