My daughter Hallie, 4, who loves anything fancy, had a wonderful dress up party. We called it Halliewood"!
The INVITATION had a picture scanned from one of her favorite books of a little girl all dressed up with a boa sunglasses and a dress. Then I added the wording using Microsoft word : "All dressed up and no place to go? Then come to Hallie's birthday for a fashion show. Put on something dazzling sparkly handsome or fancy -- but don't forget a smile. We'll have accessories to add a touch of style! " We had a fashion runway made of red felt and a backdrop made out of a large piece of plywood painted black. I painted Halliewood in silver paint and added some stars then topped it off with white Christmas lights. Each child came in costume or all dressed up. We had boas bracelets and pink gloves for the girls along with all our old dance and Halloween costumes. For the boys we had top hats and blow up microphones and some boy costumes borrowed from my nephews. We announced each child as they walked down the runway using the Barbie Rainbow Fairyoke Wings that light up (very cute). I'd introduce each one and explain what he/she was wearing and added lots of "darling" "dazzling" "trendy" "all the stars are wearing this"... We played the Hannah Montana Cd in the background. We found plates and napkins at Hobby Lobby that were pink and turquoise with a big cat that was all dressed up in sunglasses & pearls and was sitting in a big shoe. The cake matched the plates. We had all of the fixings for ice cream sundaes (all kinds of sprinkles toppings whipped cream cherries) and each kid made his/her own "parfait". The kids took home the gloves and hats that we had instead of getting any candy for party favors. Everyone had a blast at Halliewood! "
