My daughter wanted to have a Egyptian themed party for her 9th birthday. She dressed up as Cleopatra and the other girls came as other Egyptian characters and archeologists. The invitations
were done on the computer with egyptian font and on papyrus paper with all off the girls names written in hyrogliphics with egyptian clip art for decoration. I decorated with purple and gold
balloons, purple tablecloth with gold star confetti sprinkled all over. I found some peacock feathers and using a chair draped with gold fabric, we made a throne for the birthday girl. I used
gold paper plates, napkins, cups and gold serving bowls (all found at a dollar store!). We served doritos, bugles, and pizza (because of the triangle shape to resemble a pyramid)and Nile
punch (green juice). For a birthday cake I made a pyramid shaped cake by using different size sheet cake pans and just putting them on top of each other. Tinted the icing to the color of
sand, put brown sugar around the bottom o of the cake to look like sand and finished with camel and palm tree figures. We played musical chairs to walk like an egyptian, wrap the mummy
contest, hot scarab (played like hot potato) except with a rubber beatle. The girls had a great time!
