My twin boys were turning 2 and loved Elmo, so we went with a sesame street theme.  Our party was done outside as the weather was so nice and our house is small. INVITATIONS: I purchased invitations on clearance at Party City for $1.00. The 8 pack of invitations also included thank you postcards. DECORATIONS AND PAPER PRODUCTS:  We purchased Elmo plates and napkins from Party City as well as red and yellow tablecloths.  We placed a huge lot of red, green, yellow, and white balloons at the front door.  On each table we used the boys Tickle Me Extreme Elmo's (previous Christmas present) as well as a fish bowl (97 cents at Walmart) with Dorothy" (28 cent goldfish from Walmart). On the cake table I also placed an 8x10 picture of the boys together. FOOD:  For dinner as it was an evening party we had Elmo's favorite Pizza. (Bigfoot from Pizza Hut at $13.99 each which included 21 pieces.) As for the cakes I used 1 Betty Croker yellow cake mix and 1 Betty Crocker triple chocolate cake mix.  I baked each set of cake mixes in 2 9" pans as directed on the Betty Crocker box. As my boys are twins and they both love Elmo I used both of the round yellow cakes to make Elmo's face. I used Betty Crocker vanilla frosting and Wilton Icing Dye to create the colors I wanted to use.  I painted each of the yellow 9" cakes red and then used white and orange to make the eyes and nose while looking at a picture of Elmo. I used chocolate frosting for his mouth. I then made one of the chocolate cakes into Cookie Monster by painting the entire thing blue and then using vanilla and chocolate frosting to do the eyes and mouth. The last chocolate cake was made into Ernie. I frosted the entire thing orange and then used red and pink to do his nose and mouth. I again used chocolate for his hair and mouth while looking at a picture.  I'm not an artist and my two years olds could recognize each of the faces. GAMES: We only played two games as the boys were so little. The first was the Counts Counting Game (designed more for the children that were a little older). I placed a precounted amount of red swedish fish (approximately $1.28 at Walmart for about 150 fish) into a goldfish bowl (97 cents from Walmart). I walked around and showed each kid the bowl and handed them a piece of paper and a pencil. They were then told to guess how many fish were in the bowl and write their name as well as their guess onto their paper and then come place it in my brown paper bag which was labeled the Counts Counting Game.  I told the younger ones to have an adult help them write their name and/or guess on the paper. We laughed when the winner was a four year old considering we had young teenagers who also guessed.  The winner got to take home the bowl of swedish fish.  Our second game was Journey to Ernie. Previous to the party I took approximately 115 bright colored easter eggs and filled them with Sesame Street stickers ($2.00 at Party City) general birthday stickers (candles cakes etc. found at Walmart 8 sheets for $1.56) balloons Milky Ways and some with Ernie's face which I had printed off the computer.  As everyone was busy guessing how many fish were in the jar my husband went and placed the eggs throughout our yard. Once I announced the winner of the fish I explained that we would be playing Journey to Ernie.  I had each kid come and get a Sesame Street Treat Bag (50 cents on clearance at Kmart).  I explained that they could go around the yard and collect eggs and place them in their bags.  Once finished they could keep their eggs and what was inside and if Ernie was in any of their eggs they could come see me. They had a blast.  All the kids I know love Easter Egg hunts.  Once they found Ernie they got to come see me for a stamp of a present. Some kids got 5 stamps.  They were so excited and it was inexpensive.  GOODY BAGS: KIDS - I bought treat bags at Party City and filled each of them with bubbles which were buy one get one free at Party City and they were only 50 cents to begin with.  I removed the labels off of them and printed labels off the computer which said "Bubbly Bubbles from Ernie"; however instead of writing Ernie I placed a picture of his face on the label. Also in the goody bags were 50 Pepperidge Farms goldfish in snack bags; the label I made on the computer and stuck on them said "50 Goldfish from Dorothy."  Again I placed a picture of Dorothy. The third item was a pack of 4 crayons (20 cents at party city) and the label said "Colorful Crayons from Elmo" with a picture of Elmo's face.  Also in the goodie bag was a chocolate chip cookie I had baked the day before the party and was placed in a sandwich bag. The label read "A Yummy Cookie from Cookie Monster" with his face.  Last of all I wrote the following saying onto a brown paper bag with red blue green and orange Sharpie Markers cut it out and placed it in the bag as well. The saying read "Today's party was brought to you by the letters L and C (the first letter of my son's names) and the number 2 (their age). Thank you for celebrating with us. ADULTS - I wrote the same saying above on a brown paper bag for each adult and inside placed a chocolate chip cookie with the cookie monster label as well. Everyone had a great time and I had a lot of fun creating the party.  "
