The theme was Zoe (from Sesame St) in a pumpkin patch. This party was for my daughter Eve's 1st birthday. Since her birthday is in October we decided to incorporate Pumpkins, in with something that was familiar to her, Zoe from Sesame street. The rest of the Sesame Street gang was included too.  We started with the invitations about a month before the party. I took a digital picture of my daughter in denim overalls with a bright orange shirt underneath.  She was holding a stuffed Zoe doll. Then my husband super imposed the picture of Eve in a pumpkin patch.  There was a banner behind her that read Happy 1st Birthday Eve!  I used brown and orange blank cards that I found at a craft store and on the outside I glued a rectangle piece of another fall color paper on the card and then the picture of my daughter.  On the inside I printed the information for the party on computer paper and cut it out in the shape of a pumpkin. I redid an invitation that I found for one of the garden party themes. My version read, Grown from the very best of our family tree, The sweetest little pumpkin there could ever be. With a smile so bright & warm that it could never fade, Eve's the finest little produce Mother Nature ever made. Hand picked with all the goodness that life could ever bring, She's the apple of our eye and the brightest little thing. So join us with some Sesame Street friends for a bumper crop of fun, As we celebrate the special day that Eve Lily turns One. Event: Eve's First Birthday Date: ……. Pumpkin Patch Hours: 1pm-5pm Our Address, and phone number Please RSVP by …..  We decorated the front of the house as a pumpkin patch, mini pumpkins were scattered throughout the garden.  When you entered the front door a table was set up decorated in vines and more pumpkins.  A stuffed Zoe was sitting among the pumpkins.  On the table were 13  brown paper bags , tops folded down, each bag had a child's name on it and a sticker of Zoe for all the 11 girls and the 2 boys had a sticker of Zoe with Elmo. These bags were for favors and prizes received throughout party.  Next to the table were 2 baskets, one filled with children's prizes and one with adult prizes. The children's basket consisted of Zoe coloring books I found at the dollar store, roll on bath soap from avon, candy apple, pumpkin stickers, ballet coloring books, little feeding bowls for the babies. The adult basket had fall soaps from Avon, the box had pumpkins on it.  Magnetic note pads for fall, Snack clips, babysitter checklists. The rest of the house continued with the orange and pink theme (orange from the pumpkins and pink from Zoes tutu). Orange streamers adorned the windows and pink ballons.   In our family room I had an oversized stuffed Zoe and Elmo for the kids to play with along with a bunch of toys. (a dancing ernie doll, chicken dance elmo and hokey pokey elmo were among the toys). At 1:00 people arrived 48 adults and 13 children, we had a selection of appetizers and for the babies a mix, cherrios, kix, puffs and pretzels. While everyone was mingling we handed out a Sesame St. quiz.  The children's quiz had 5 questions on it all about Zoe. What color is Zoe? What kind of pet does she have? Etc. The adult quiz had ten questions on it.   What year did Sesame Street first air?   Which monster was created specifically to compliment Elmo on screen? . Zoe Monster is how old?  Etc. The adults and children old enough to do the quiz had fun guessing the answers. We all had a good laugh. Two children tied getting all 5 answers right and were able to pick a prize from the prize basket. The adult with the most right answers 7 picked a prize from the adult prize basket.  Then around 2 we served a lunch, a mix of hot foods, chicken fingers and French fries for the kids. After lunch it was time for bingo.  All the adults and children played. My husband bought a program to make bingo cards.  We took pictures of a pumpkin, Zoe, our daughter, her God Parents, her sister, and a bunch of the sesame street characters, her birth date, her due date, a caterpillar (her first Halloween costume). Etc. Each picture got a different space on the bingo card. The program we had mixed all the pictures and put it in a different space on the bingo card so no two cards were alike.  We printed out each bingo space separate also so I could hold up the picture of Zoe, our daughter etc. and everyone could see if they had it.  The adults definitely needed the large pictures of the sesame street characters.  It was so much fun. The kids could win as many times and they did and the adults were limited to one win.  The adults were getting pretty competitive. After each win, the winner picked from the prize basket. We played 6 games and if I had enough cards we probably would of played more. After bingo we had cake.  I found a cake decorator who made me a 3D Zoe with pink tutu sitting in a pumpkin patch. Zoe was a 3D cake and the pumpkins were different size cupcakes.  I asked her to make 5 mini cupcakes for the 5 kids under 2. The cake was a hit. After cake we showed a collage of pictures and video my husband put on a DVD from Eve's first year.  It started off the day she was born in the hospital up until a couple days before the party.  We put it to the song by Dar Williams "The One Who Knows" It definitely brought tears to our eyes. When it was time to leave the children took there brown bags with the prizes they won in it and there were a bunch of Zoe stickers in it.  As they left they took a mini pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Overall everyone had a great time and the party was a success.
