Our daughter's 3rd birthday party had a Sesame Street theme. 11 children were invited, including the birthday girl. 6 children attended.
Invitation: Our party theme started with P is for Party" Sesame Street party supplies: invitations and balloons. It had a very bright primary colored theme. Decorations: There were five picnic tables two food tables and the gift table. Each table had a different color of tablecloth: red orange yellow green blue purple. Plates napkins forks spoons & cups were each in a different bright color: Large green plate small red plates large purple cups small yellow cups large yellow napkins small red napkins orange forks white spoons. In the center of each table was a balloon bouquet of different colors of balloons with a "P is for Party" balloon in the center. The balloons were tied with a contrasting color of ribbon. Around the balloon centerpieces we placed different Sesame Street character plushies (Elmo Big Bird Grover Bert Ernie Zoe Snuffy Oscar)and other Sesame Street toys that we already had. Activities: My sister has a Sesame Street bounce house so we borrowed it for the smaller children to play in. Since the party was at a city park there were also swings & a slide to play on. I also brought a blanket and our Elmo chair and put out our other Sesame Street toys and books on it for the children to play with and read. Party Snacks: We had cheese pepperoni & supreme pizza chip sodas Sesame Street juice boxes a cookie cake ice cream & frosting filled cookies. There were three types of juice boxes: Elmo Big Bird & Bert & Ernie. Each ones was a different kind of fruit juice. We had the individual cups of ice cream: vanilla chocolate sundae & strawberry swirl. Cake:The chocolate chip cookie cake had red and blue writing on it with flowers and some green icing too. I put Big Bird Cookie Monster Elmo & Zoe figurines on the big cookie. My sister-in-law made chocolate chip cookies and had a choice of either blue or yellow icing between the two cookies. I guess you could call it a cookie sandwich! Favors: We had a "P is for Party" pull-string pinata and I gave each child a gift bag to fill with the candy. The pinata has always been the highlight of our daughter's birthday party! The bag was white with circles of all colors on it. We played "Hot Tomato Elmo" a game we already had just like Hot Potato and the child who was holding the Tomato Elmo when he stopped shaking got first pick of the party favors: plush purses for the girls with a choice of Elmo Bert Cookie Monster or Oscar the Grouch; a plush Grover or Elmo for the boys and a McDonald's Arch card for the 12 year old. Child was happy Mom and Dad were tired and we will try to have the party at home next year with our new kiddie pool and backyard playset---still keeping a theme of child's choosing (her first time to choose!)with invitations balloons pinatas favors etc. "
