Well first of all what a wonderful site this "Party Ideas" is. I read through the ideas sent in and come up with more things to add and had the most wonderful party for my little girl.  5 YEAR OLD FAIRY PARTY  We were lucky to have a lovely day and had blossoms and pink and purple flowers out in the garden so it was a great setting to start off with. At the entrance I had made some lovely signs up that said "Welcome fairies" and "Fairies come this way" so they had to walk through the garden that was dotted with pink and purple balloons.  They were greeted by two fairy princesses that were dressed in beautiful turquiose dresses (employed 2 girls 11/14 years olds to entertain the girls) and they welcomed they girls and gave each of the girls a wand (brought some little plastic wands and glued some silver and white feathery ribbons on it to look that extra bit special).  I had made name badges for each child so the fairy princesses would know each childs name. They were then blindfolded and ask if she would like to be a fairy for a day and when she said yes, the girl would tap a magical wand on her head and the words " Abra cadabra" would be said and voila her wand was now magical for the day. They then blew bubbles and sprinkled fairy dust.  The first game of the day was once all girls arrived we read a book on fairies. We chose The Tooth Fairy book.   THEN we moved onto having the princess fairies put makeup on all the girls. They had their nails painted, eye shadow on, lip gloss and roll on glitter. We then went onto decorating cupcakes. They had pink and purple icing to start with then I managed to get small marshmallows, 100's and 1000's, silver balls etc.  They made a lovely job. We then placed them on a pretty board covered in silver paper and they took them home at the end of the day The next game was Fairy Rock.  I chose the Nutcracker music and we had them dancing out on the lawn amongst the flowers. We did musical statues. Last fairy standing got a lovely fairy prize. Then we had a treasure hunt. The fairy princesses told the girls that the tooth fairy had flown over last night and had lost all of her golden coins and we need to help her find them. And since the girls are being so helpful, she has decided to let them keep them. There was great excitment in finding all of the coins. Our next game was the scavenger hunt.  All of the girls got into pairs and were accompanied by an adult. They were told that the Queen fairy had had her house flown away and needed some help from the girls to rebuild it.   I had made up little bags that had a list stapled to them, asking them to find the following:  3 brown leaves (for the roof of the house), 2 stones (for the floor), 2 green leaves (for the walls) and something shiny (for the windows) and lastly 2 twigs (for the door).  They were to bring them all back and we would put it all into a big bag and the fairy princesses would take it home to their mother.  The last game of the day was "Pin the horn on the Unicorn". I found a lovely picture of a unicorn on the Neopet website and blew it up and painted it pink. Then made lots of yellow horns for the children to stick on.  Very successful.  The food side:  We had pink marshmallows, grape and fruitpuff kebabs, mini hotdogs, chicken nibbles, pink meringues with pink cream, pink lemonade, 100 and 1000's biscuits, strawberries. THE CAKE:  I am a cake decorator and my little girl asked for a rainbow cake with a unicorn on it. So that was what she got.  It was an awesome day and very sad that it is over and now she is off to school.
